“My wellness journey began in December 2020 when I sat weeping in my doctors office saying “I can’t live like this anymore”.
My weight had slowly climbed to 250 pounds -obese for a 5’5 inch 57 year old woman. My blood pressure and sugar levels had also escalated and my doctor was ready to start me on additional medicines to get my health under control. That’s when I decided It was time to make a change.
Having anxiously come through the pandemic, as we all did, I realized just how much I had made food my friend and my comforter, even more than I had in prior years.
Then, in November of 2020, came the passing of my dear mother from complications related to diabetes and I found myself in a very low place. My mom had repeatedly told me, “Don’t be like me - don't be over weight don’t get diabetes”. Hearing mom’s voice in my head cheered me on and motivated me to finally commit to my own self care….and thats when I met, Stacey Wade.
During one of my first personal training sessions with Stacey, I shared my sadness about losing my mom and how I needed to lose weight, gain back control of my health, my body, and my life. In that moment, Stacey’s warmth, acceptance and encouragement meant everything to me . She said, “you have made it here and I am so proud of you for taking this first step in your journey. You can do this, one step at a time.”
Stacey became my fitness motivator, my accountability partner, and my friend. She helped me shed 50 + pounds in time for my sons joyous wedding in August of 2021 !
I continue to work with Stacey to this day, on my fitness and weight loss journey. I have a new found level of energy since shedding a total of 65 pounds thus far…Just another 25 pounds to go … and with Stacey’s expertise and continued presence in my life, I know I will reach my ultimate goal !!
Stacey is also a gifted yoga instructor and I have benefited greatly from these sessions as well. The yoga stretching increases my flexibility and the relaxation centers me and brings me a sense of peace.
Stacey has been a significant agent of change in my life. She embraced me as a person, listened deeply to me and understood my fitness goals, and developed workout routines specific to my needs.
